Welcome to "From The Pastor's Desk"
Updated: Jun 29
It is with a grateful heart and great anticipation that I write the very first edition of what we are calling “From the Pastor’s Desk.” This will be a weekly space where I can share encouragement from God’s Word, updates from our church family, and a glimpse into what God is doing in and through us at Temple Baptist Church.
This is not meant to be a formal announcement board or a distant publication—it is simply a pastor’s heart on paper. My prayer is that it becomes a place where you feel connected, encouraged, and reminded that church is not just something we attend, but a family we grow with.
A Little About Me and My Family
For those I have not yet had the joy of meeting personally, my name is Dakota Stockton. I serve as the pastor here at Temple Baptist Church, and it is truly an honor to walk alongside you in this season.
My wife, Hannah, and I are grateful for the calling God has placed on our lives together. We have been blessed with two daughters—Sutton and Shiloh—who keep our home full of joy, laughter, and more energy than we sometimes know what to do with. They are a constant reminder to me of God’s goodness and the importance of raising the next generation to know and love the Lord.
As a family, we are not stepping into Temple Baptist Church as outsiders looking in—we are stepping in as fellow believers who are excited to grow with you, serve with you, and build something rooted in Christ alongside you.
Why This Blog Exists
“From the Pastor’s Desk” is designed to do a few simple things:
First, to encourage you in your walk with Christ throughout the week. Life is full, and sometimes Sunday feels far away by Wednesday. My hope is that these words will serve as a midweek reminder of truth, grace, and direction from God’s Word.
Second, to help you stay connected with what God is doing at Temple Baptist Church. Whether it is upcoming services, ministry opportunities, or testimonies of life change, this will be a place to stay informed and engaged.
Third, to give a personal touch to pastoral ministry. I want you to know your pastor is praying, thinking, and seeking the Lord for this church—not just on Sundays, but every day in between.
Looking Ahead with Expectation
As we begin this journey together, I want to say clearly: I am excited about what God is building here—not in human strength, but in spiritual unity, biblical faithfulness, and a heart for people.
My desire is not to simply “grow a church,” but to help build a body of believers who love Jesus deeply, love each other sincerely, and love their community faithfully.
I believe the best days for Temple Baptist Church are not behind us—they are ahead of us as we follow the Lord step by step.
A Final Word for This Week
Let me leave you with this simple encouragement: God is not finished with you, and He is not finished with us.
Wherever you are reading this from—at home, at work, or on a busy break in your day—be reminded that the same God who called us together is faithful to lead us forward.
I look forward to worshiping with you, praying with you, and growing with you in the days ahead.
With gratitude and expectation,
Pastor Dakota
